General Information
The beauty of Taormina has been documented by writers for centuries and the city is one of Sicily’s most striking locations. It has all the qualities that attract visitors, incredible views, ancient ruins, hundreds of shops and quaint boutiques. Many of its narrow alleys, but especially the main street, are closed to traffic, making the main part of Taormina a pedestrian zone.
What will you visit?
Taormina – A charming tourist village, set on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naxos. Your guide will introduce you to Taormina’s attractions with a guided walk that includes Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and the main street Corso Umberto, lined with former palaces with charming architecture and flower-decked balconies. Stop at Palazzo Corvaja dating back to the Middle Ages. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Bay of Naxos and also admire Mount Etna in the distance from the panoramic terrace of Piazza IX Aprile.
Ancient Theatre of Taormina – Follow your guide along the road to the Greco-Roman theatre. Dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC, it still hosts live performances and concerts. The theatre’s dramatic setting is breathtaking, with incredible views of the coastline and Mount Etna in the distance.
Castelmola – This small village is strategically located close to Taormina and enjoys a splendid panoramic view. The centrepiece of the village is the charming Piazzetta del Duomo with its beautiful and intricate paving. From various points you can enjoy beautiful views of Mount Etna, the north coast and the beaches below Taormina.
You will also have more than an hour to indulge in the opportunities offered by the many shops and boutiques that line Taormina’s main street, as well as enjoy a leisurely lunch in the streets of the centre.

Is this tour shared or private?
Tour by Sicily reserves the right to cancel the tour if the guide is not available no later than 2 days before departure. In this case, 100% of the paid fees will be refunded within 24 hours of the cancellation notice communicated by e-mail or an alternative tour will be offered.
